Student prostitute

Have you gone to extreme lengths to pay off debts? Should Nicky have tried another job before becoming an escort? Is being an escort a respectable way to earn money? Would you do it?

She's lucky she's a woman.
What could a man do in that situation?

There is medical advice grafted onto the end of this article - it doesn't mention the serious danger of just stopping benzodiazepines (diazepam, temazepam etc) once you're hooked. Slow tapering is the safest way to stop. Suddenly ceasing can lead to convulsions and death.

You know what ,these days everything is ridiculous , the jail sentences- For raping they should be shot ( dwn below) they wont do it again and murdering someone-they should be hung they wont do it again.and now education fees well you know what she did what she had to do, she didnt want to do it but she had to . these days we have to go to extreme lengths to get a good life. If i was your friend i would give you the money straight away :) I love Fabulous mag!!

at least this person did'nt steal money like some would,i wonder if this lady got a job in an abortion clinic or factory producing land mines, would we be sitting in moral judgment? prostitution is a soft target to condemn, we should condemn the capitalist society & free market economy

I have just read Nicky Mackenzie's story and my heart goes out to her. This woman was so driven and ambitious to achieve excellence that she resorted to taking drugs to sharpen her concentration in order to pass her exams with flying colours. However, I do not believe prostitution is the way to becoming an A grade student all that is needed is consistent hard work and confidence in your abilties. However, I applaud Nikcy for seeking help and falling back on the love and support of her family and boyfriend.I would like to remind her that: what does not kill you will only make you stronger.

There is nothing to feel ashamed of as most posh girls do this sort of thing when they need the money. Katie did the same when she was at Cambridge Uni and now as a nurse !

I have so much respect for Nicky! How brave she is for coming out with this story and it shows how passionate she was for her degrees and she went through some horrific times by the sound of it! I want to wish her all the best luck and i think it shows she is a great woman to go through that

Misery

Well what is normal or correct any more.

There is one underlying fact in this story and that is that Petra should have done the two things she did at the end,at the beginng. That is,she should have told the people who care about herthe most at the start of her problems.Obviously her parents think the world of her and sorted out her finances, and her boyfriend sorted out her feelings. The moral here is to talk to the people who care about you.Listen and learn

Cassie

Yes, I think she was right to turn to prostitution. Very few other jobs pay £200 an hour. And lucky her - having daddy pay off her debts in the end. Some of us sink into prostitution and have to stay there since we don't have some doting daddy to bail us out!

I have been bipolar all of my adult life, I had ADHD as a child. I feel like i have only just started to live after being diagnosed aged 40!! and now take mood stabilising drugs that have given me back my quality of life. I have been treated for clinical depression but the meds never worked as it was bipolar depression and i was misdiagnosed as are many, many people and consigned to a living hell!! The 'up' or manic stage of my disorder i liked because it makes me very creative musically but i could not live with the lows anymore.I made lots of mistakes growing up as i tried desperately to self medicate with street drugs and alcohol.Had i been diagnosed all those years ago, it would have saved me a lifetime of pain emotionally and a few suicide attempts! My heart goes out to this girl and hopefully she can put the past behind her and live a happy, stable life free of guilt for her past mistakes. There is still a stigma attatched to any form of mental illness. Bipolar disorder is basically a chemical inbalance of the brain. If for example, you had heart disease or diabetes etc... you would seek treatment free of social stigma and take medication to keep it under control, why then can this not be so with Bipolar disorder? As this ignorance actually prevents many people from seeking help. Good for you on getting help...Go girl! Live your life with your head held high!
